UPDATE: Moshulu cover charge will be $5 instead of $12 for all meetup members who are on the RSVP list. To receive the discounted cover, members must either have a valid picture in their profile or have their full name under their RSVP.

The RSVP list has been closed.

Many of us will be staying on the Moshulu all night for their opening bash, so if you're not going on the cruise, come out and join us!! There will be a lesson and a live band later on, plus DJ El Sonero, a great DJ from DC, so it should be a lot of fun! !! (See below for more info).

Join us at Moshulu for their grand opening bash (8p.m. to 2:30 a.m). The ship/restaurant is located right next to the Spirit of Philadelphia dock (401 S. Columbus Blvd). There will
be a free salsa lesson by Barbara Capaldi from 8-9 and a live band later on. $3 Captain Morgan, Coronas, & Parrot Bay Breeze all night. This is Moshulu's grand opening party, so it should be a lot fun.

We should be on the main deck (look for the meetup signs). With a cruise ticket, Moshulu is free....without one it's $12 or $10 w/ LatinDanceScene.com coupon. MEETUP MEMBERS PAY ONLY $5. $5 also for students, police, & MD/VA/DC license holders. Free for military personnel.

The Moshulu should be fun. Since a few people have asked about tickets for the Moshulu, I just wanted to clarify: no tickets are needed; you just need to RSVP "yes" and have a valid pic in your profile to get the PSM discount on the cover ($5 instead of $12). See you all there!

    •  The Moshulu was alot of fun. The band was great. We were dancing all over the ship.
    •  It was great for my first event and wonderful venue! Glad to find out about the Moshulu's summer Sunday night salsa. I would have never known. Now I have something to look forward to on Sunday nights.
    •  Great event. Very relaxed and awesomely fun!

I had a great time.Because it was opening night,I think there were a few kinks that needed to be worked out, including the delayed start time (which I believe resulted in the lesson being cancelled), and the lack of bartenders. The floor isn't the greatest but the atmosphere more than makes up for that in my opinion. The weather was perfect, there was a nice breeze,a great view, and it was just nice to be outside enjoying great music. Since Rock Lobster is no longer an option,Moshulu should be the new summer spot. The dance floor was definitely crowded, but it was opening night so I think that was to be expected; also, there was the extra crowd from the Spirit cruise. The music was hot. DJ Sonero from D.C. and the live band were both excellent. We also had South Central PA Salsa Meetup joining us...it's always fun hanging out with them.Unfortunately, it was tough to find a convenient place to set up the meetup table;next time we'll have a more visible meeting area.Overall, it was a fun time!!

The energy and live band were great. But, the dance floor was such a tight space and the floor was a problem for ladies with salsa shoes or heels. I recommend a jazz shoe, or wide heel, otherwise you get stuck in the planks and risk injury.

The Moshulu is the best!! The Atmosphere, and the boat are phenominal. I loved being outdoors dancing again, the band was great!! I saw friends that I have not seen since last year at Rock Lobster!! I stayed mostly on the top deck because the lower deck was crowded. The floor is uneven on both sides, however, that will not stop me from trying to go back every Sunday! The Moshulu is the place to be! Have meetups there every Sunday!!
    •  I had a great time!! the floor was a little different to dance on, however, the DJ music and the live band made it all worth while. Always fun to hang out with Philly Salsa Meetup!
    •  Holy hell that was fun. Too crowded, too small, spin-proof floor... but somehow it was awesome anyway. A shout to everyone I danced with and everyone I could never find again in that mob!
    •  The Moshulu Bash was GREAT! I had a great time dancing +.
    •  It was a very exciting event. I love it!
