Welcome all new members of the Milwaukee Baile Salsa Meetup Club! I hope that you can attend this wonderful workshop and get to meet other members of our club and the dance community this comming Sunday. Learn from some of the finest bachata instructors, make sure to RSVP! This will be on a first come first serve. Classes are from begining to advanced dips and lifts. See schedule below. Take one or all of the classes. We will be taking a break for dinner right at Babalu's restaurant where our guest instructors will be performing a demonstration. After classes, we will have a social with a mix of Bachata, Salsa, Merengue, and more with Lee "El Gringito" DeeJaying for the night. The dance will be open to the public after the workshop and there will be a $5 cover to get in. Come out to learn, dance, eat and socialize. See all the information below.

Lee "El Gringuito" has taught more people to dance Bachata in the United States than anyone in the World! He has been seen on the final episodes of Americas Got Talent, Fox Television, Ambush Makeover, Telemundo and Univision. Get ready for amazing lessons that will take your Bachata to the next level! Together with his beautiful wife Nohelia they are traveling around the country in 2009. Workshop dates have been scheduled in Reno, San Francisco, Milwaukee, DC, Baltimore, Honolulu, Charlotte, and the UK. Their four hour workshop, Latin Dance Show, and DJ Experience will leave you wanting more!

Workshop Description 4x 50 Minute Workshops

Bachata Foundation/Dominican Style Bachata - 4:00 PM
Get ready to learn a great foundation of moves including Bachata motion, turns, half turns and Dominican motion. This class sets the foundation of the entire workshop. This workshop focuses on material taught on our Level I Bachata DVD.

Bachata Hot Combinations - 5:00 PM
Get ready to learn amazing Signature Lee "El Gringuito" Bachata moves. This class will utilize many of the principles taught in Bachata Foundations. You will start to develop your Domincan Style Bachata step with moves like La Dominicana and then be ready for exciting combinations like Extreme Bachata. This workshop focuses on moves taught on our Level II Bachata DVD.

Dance demonstration and show during the dinner hour - 6:00 PM
Dinner is on your own and not included as part of the workshop, however, most of us will be conveniently staying on the premises to try the cuisine at this wonderful new restaurant. Lee and Nohelia will be performing a demonstration during this time.


Bridging the Gap Between Bachata & Salsa- 7:00 PM
In this class you will learn how to take Salsa combinations and convert them into Bachata moves. Both dances share some basic musicalities. You will learn a number of Salsa combinations and then we will convert them into Hot Bachata Moves

Bachata Tricks and Dips - 8:00 PM
Get ready to Spice Up Your Bachata with amazing tricks and dips. This "LA Style Flair" can be added at key moments in songs to give that extra "punch." You will learn Bachata Dip, Tango Lift and Dip and Hypnotic Bachata! We will also dicuss safety and common elements among moves. This workshop focuses on moves taught on our Level III Bahata DVD.
Followed by:
Social dancing to a mix of Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, and Reggaeton DJ "El Gringito" mixing - 9:00 to 12:00 PM
Enrollment Fee:
$20 per class per person - All four classes for $65.

Members of the Milwaukee Baile Salsa Club or any Latin Dance Company student, past or present receive a 10% discount on your choice of any of these boot camp classes. This is a first come first serve boot camp. Social Dance open to the general public at 9:00 PM. - $5 at the door.

    Yes i agree with all of my salsa friends, it was so nice to learn some new moves and dips, specially "la dominicana"...right Rosa?...lol i had a lot of fun thanks Chris for making this possible.

Refunds offered if:

  • the Meetup is cancelled

Additional notes: Meetup members will recieve 10% discount if they take fewer than 4 classes. However, taking all four workshops will be the most economical.

Payments you make go to the organizer, not to Meetup. You must make refund requests to the organizer.
