MOVIMIENTOS Latin America Network is an organisation dedicated to the promotion of Latin culture in the UK and now here in Lebanon. Through our events we aim to support the musicians, DJs and artists at the forefront of the Latin music scene as well as providing a platform for social documentaries, talks exhibitions for NGOs, charities and of course spreading cultural awareness on Latin America. Our events always offer a donation to a chosen charity.

The opening

Movimientos is planning to hold an event at Jammals, Kfar Abide Coastal Road, South Batroun. Jammals Beach Bar and restaurant is famous for fine Lebanese cuisine, leftfield beach parties along with having one of the most beautiful private beaches in Lebanon.

We expect plus 300 people to attend the opening night which will take place on September the 20th 2008.

The night is dedicated to Latin Music and performance. It will be the only 100% Latin American event in Lebanon and will cater for a range of musical tastes eg, salsa, merengue, reggaeton, bachata, cumbia. cumba ska and reggae and latin hip hop - latin dance and brazilian funk. There will be a range of live acts, bands, sound-systems and a guest DJ every month.

Resident DJs from UK/Colombia DJ Arias most recently played with Movimientos at Glastonbury festival UK.

This month we will be donating 10% of profits to Native Spirit Organisation.
Native Spirit is a non profit, charitable organisation which promotes the knowledge and preservation of indigenous cultures of the Three Americas and funds educational resources for young indigenous people.
