Street Salsa on the 3rd Street Promenade

The Santa Monica Salsa Meetup Group - Salsa Familia!
This begins our 7th year on the 3rd Street Promenade. We have 33 members from Meetup and another 250 to 300 members from the general salsa community who join us each Sunday for the fun, beauty and excitement of dancing on the street!
We are very causal and loosely structured group. We model ourselves after the street salsa gatherings you would find in places like Cuba, Puerto Rico and New York. Not only do we have Salseras and Salseros but entire families, friends and others who gather to just listen to the music, spectate and talk. There are other street dance clubs (Tango and Swing) situated like us, between Wilshire Blvd and Arizona on the 3rd Street Promenade, that give plenty of opportunity to try their dance styles.
With all of the restaurants and abundant activities, come out and make a day of it.

hi, all. i've seen online that the salsa at the 3rd street promenade happens during the summer. do you know if it's kicked off this year yet? i'm hoping to go tomorrow, but don't want to if it hasn't started yet for the season. looking forward to hearing from someone and thanks!
